Report

  • FMT department of Omar Homoeopathic Medical College and RC, have arranged visit to Sadar Bazar police station as part of academic curriculum/practical training, with purpose to understand the daily functioning of a police station, observe the procedures of law enforcement, and gain real-world insight into how police officers maintain law and order in society.

  • During the visit, we observed the following:

    • The police station was divided into different sections, including Complaint, Registration Desk, Investigation Unit, Women’s Help Desk, Record Room, Lock-up Area.

    • FIRs (First Information Reports) registration both manually and digitally.

    • The station maintained daily records in a General Diary (GD).

    • Surveillance systems (CCTV) were installed for safety and monitoring.

    • Officers were attending to public complaints patiently and professionally.

    • The premises were clean, organized, and had basic facilities for visitors.

  • We interacted with API Mr. Anand Sable, who briefed us on:

    • The process of lodging a complaint.

    • The hierarchy of police personnel (SHO, SI, ASI, Constables, etc.).

    • The role of police in investigation, law enforcement, and public safety.

    • Challenges faced by police officers, such as long working hours and resource limitations.

  • The visit provided valuable insights, including:

    • The practical aspects of criminal law enforcement.

    • How police officers handle real-life situations.

    • The significance of discipline, responsibility, and dedication in police work.

    • Awareness of how to file a complaint and what citizens can expect during police procedures.

  • We are grateful to Chairperson Mr. Huzeefa Maulana, other trustee members, Principal Prof. Dr. Hasina Mhaisale Madam, and other organising members for such academic visit.
